AeroSpace

AeroSpace is a tiling window manager for macOS modelled on i3, the well-known tiling window manager for Linux. Instead of dragging and resizing windows by hand, you work with a tree of containers: windows are laid out automatically as horizontal or vertical tiles, or stacked as an accordion where one window has focus and the others stay tucked at the edges. Everything is driven from the keyboard, and keybindings and behaviour live in a plain-text TOML configuration file. The project is open source under the MIT licence and is essentially a one-person effort: Nikita Bobko has written the overwhelming majority of its commits. Its README describes the project status as public beta: it can be used as a daily driver, but breaking changes are expected until version 1.0. The repository had more than 23,000 GitHub stars on 24 September 2026. It suits Mac users who want predictable, keyboard-first window layouts without paying for a commercial tool.
