Guitar Wiz

Guitar Wiz is a toolkit for guitarists on iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch that puts a chord library, a tuner, a metronome and a song builder in one app. The chord library shows voicings with fingering diagrams and audio, a chord finder works backwards from notes or a shape you enter, and the song maker lets you arrange progressions into sections with guitar, bass and drum backing. A song sheet scanner turns printed chord charts into something you can play along with. Its accessibility work is what Apple highlighted when it gave Guitar Wiz a 2026 Apple Design Award for Inclusivity: VoiceOver describes pitch, chords and where to place your fingers, and the app supports Dynamic Type, Increased Contrast and Differentiate Without Color. Guitar Wiz is built by Bijoy Thangaraj, an Indian developer and musician who has been making iOS music apps since 2011 and whom Apple describes as a solo developer. It is free to download, with optional monthly, yearly or lifetime All Access purchases. It suits beginners learning their first chords as well as players who want one app instead of several.
