Page Assist

Page Assist is a browser extension that gives locally running AI models a practical interface. It adds a sidebar you can open on any page, plus a full-tab web UI, and connects to local providers such as Ollama, Chrome's built-in Gemini Nano and OpenAI-compatible servers like LM Studio or llamafile, so conversations can stay on your own machine. You can chat with the page you are reading, add documents to a local knowledge base for retrieval, let the model search the web, and keep a library of reusable prompts for tasks like summarising, rephrasing, translating and explaining text. It works in Chromium browsers such as Chrome, Brave and Edge as well as in Firefox. The extension is open source under the MIT licence and written almost entirely by one developer, Muhammed Nazeem, who publishes it on the Chrome Web Store and Firefox Add-ons.
